About
scottluptowski.com is a blog about the Internet, branding, marketing, social media, new media, and anything else that I find interesting.
I recently earned a Masters Degree in International Marketing and Brand Management from Lund University in Lund, Sweden. My Master’s Thesis examined how individuals use the Internet and New Media channels to spread word of their participation in a consumer boycott. The thesis also looked at how these boycotters encourage others to participate. Along with two groupmates, I used traditional ethnographic techniques and the tools of the Internet to study both the emotions present in a boycott scenario and the way that boycotters use technology to communicate their message.
My bachelor’s degree is from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa; at Drake I majored in Advertising Management and earned minors in Marketing and in Sociology. During my time at Drake I was also able to spend a summer abroad in Budapest, Hungary, where I studied 20th century European history.
I was born in Chicago, raised in Atlanta, and am currently in Melbourne, Australia. My interests include travel, music, bicycles, food, history, and photography.
